Welcome to the Hindu Worship Society Temple


Namaskar and welcome Hindu Worship Society. This Temple is the oldest Hindu Temple in Houston and strives to meet the needs of all sects of Hindu religion. The aim in establishing this temple was to provide a place for the Hindu community in Houston to pray, to congregate and to get together as a community to discuss common problems and issues. This temple also aims to foster understanding between the Hindus of greater Houston and their fellow Americans of other faiths.

Mandir Hours - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 7-10 AM and 6:00 - 8 PM. Thursday - by appointment o­nly. Sunday: 11:30 to 1:30 and 7:30 to 8:00 PM– Regular Puja, Religious discourses and Prasad

Hindi Classes - Hindi classes classes are held every Sunday from 11:30 till 12:30. Session for this year has already started. Enrollement for the next session will start after summer.

 Temple Anniversary Program – April 1st

Please come and join us at HWS to celebrate Mandir Anniversary o­n Sunday April 1st from 7:00 AM to 1:30 PM. The Temple Priest- Bibhudutta Mishra will perform LORD RAMA YAJNA.

 

Lord Rama Yajna is known to manifest righteousness in life. Oblations will be offered to Lord Rama, the Vishnu incarnation in human form, an embodiment of consistent clarity, wisdom, patience, sacrifices, bravery, respect and grace for all. Rama’s life teaches us to bring harmony in thoughts, speech and actions.

This is your opportunity to participate in the Yajna and obtain Lord Rama’s grace.

The program starts with Ganesh Puja at 7 AM and ends with Aarti at 1 PM

Breakfast 9:30 to 10 AM

Maha Prasad at 1:30 PM
